About NCPL

NCPL is one of the incubate of Villgro. Indradhanu, one of the product of NSCPL, is an advanced Weather Monitoring Stations which measures six important weather parameters like Temperature, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Atmospheric pressure, Rainfall and Relative Humidity using advanced sensor technology.

Project title: To perform business intelligence and compile a detailed competitor analysis for Indradhanu

Location: Bangalore

Stipend: 10,000/-

Overview of internship:

An intern to work with the Business Development Group to perform business intelligence and compile a detailed competitor analysis. To establish leads from various governmental agencies, NGO networks, and private players across key sectors with cold calls and  follow up/liaison. To develop a detailed sales strategy based on market need and inherent strengths of the company. To work with the Technical Support team and help establish/optimize a customer support protocol with an inbuilt customer feedback survey to be filled by the customer for each transaction.

Desired Profile:

Education: MBA specialized in marketing

Experience: nil

Duration: 3 months

About NCPL

NCPL is one of the incubate of Villgro. NCPL requires two interns to work with them during winter.

Project title: To develop a Branding and Marketing design for Indradhanu –

Location: Bangalore

Overview of internship:

An intern to be involved with the Design & Branding team and develop and design a detailed branding initiative for Indradhanu-  . To help with the design and content finalized of the dedicated website for Indradhanu. To develop a detailed marketing plan with  viability analysis based on an analysis of the market, current players and existing business models for weather risk management in India.To develop processes for maintaining a database of regular updates on the market and key players.

ROPE (Rural Outsourced Production Enterprise) is a company incubated and supported by the Villgro and TeNeT group of Indian Institute of Technology Madras, with the objective of establishing production centers in rural India to enhance livelihoods of rural poor. ROPE focus on natural fiber crafts and products made from banana bark fiber, korai grass, elephant grass, bamboo and coir.

Area of Project:

Topic: Analysis of absenteeism, Performance and salary of workers at the ROPE production units

Description of the project:

a) Assess the attendance system, absenteeism and turn over for a specific period of time and identify the causes. Compare this with standard manufacturing industry averages.

b) . Correlate age of the employee, distance travelled by each employee to work, travel expenditure with performance, absenteeism and overall satisfaction and turn over

c) Ensure  availability of correct and updated profile of all employees f) Compare the household workers and regular workers in terms of  their number, their average daily earnings, no of hours they work, their profile

d) Compare local employment opportunities with ROPE in terms of salary, nature of work etc.

Deliverables at the end of th project: Internship report describing the findings of the analysis described above

Skill: Problem solving through analytical approach

Knowledge: Quantitative and qualitative research techniques

Language: Working knowledge of Tamil is mandatory
