Welcome to another Inspiring newsletter crammed full of graduate news, intern chat and this week's hottest vacancies!

Great opportunity! Want to earn money, working the hours you choose and have the flexibility to attend any other interviews?

We are working with Abel & Cole to source excellent communicators, who are happy to call existing customers from 4pm – 8pm any or all evenings you choose. You will be paid £7 per hour plus commission on any new orders you take. You can work any days you like in their fantastic, friendly office in Wimbledon complete with table tennis table and gym!

You would be working with a team of new recruits handpicked by Inspiring Interns and Abel & Cole. If you would be interested in coming to Inspiring Interns office for the interview day, please send your CV to sam@inspiringinterns.com and he will talk you through the interview process.

UK unemployment hits highest level for 17 years

Unemployment has reached a 17-year high after more than 100,000 people joined the ranks of those looking for a job, grim new figures showed today.

Youth unemployment reached a record high of 991,000, while the numbers claiming jobseeker's allowance increased for the seventh month in a row, to 1.6 million.

Employers say job applicants 'lack basic skills'

Almost half of employers say they are finding it hard to hire suitable candidates for vacancies, despite unemployment standing at its highest level since 1994.

Research carried out by the BCC, which surveyed 6,000 businesses, found that 45% find it "very" or "quite" difficult to fill vacancies, with many claiming that candidates lack basic skills such as literacy, numeracy, timekeeping and communication.

I wanted to improve my CV and experience the up and down world of sales.

Finding contacts from major mobile brands in the UK and creating relationships with them.

Your favourite part of your internship?

Attending exhibitions where you go meet potential clients face to face and testing games.

Any advice for future interns?

Use LinkedIn effectively as it can help you get a job if you are not taken on after your internship.

How to use unemployment to your advantage – guest blog

Times have changed from when getting your most sought after job seemed easy enough as long as you had a degree. There is now a combination of factors affecting a graduate's ability to land their dream job and the reality is that someone will have to face the inevitable rejection. For those of us who are on that end of the spectrum, we may feel extremely discouraged and disappointed and wonder "what is it I am missing?
