The core team will be responsible for overseeing Cankid’s Volunteer Management Program (VMP) Basic Responsibilities would include: 1) Introducing prospective Interns/Volunteers to CANKIDS Organization (what the organization is about, activities, current projects, explain intern – term & conditions, volunteer -terms & conditions) 2) The core team will do the HR Work of the VMP – form filling, getting CVs from prospective interns/volunteers 3) the core team will Match the candidate’s interest with the current Internship Programs and assign them their responsibility 4) The core team will Oversee Intern, manage & support Interns/Volunteers over the course of their assignment @ Cankids
1. As volunteers to assist with tuitions and education, and to be a mentor or friend. 2. As volunteers for the hospital-based Children's Activity Programmes – attend the Activity Clinics, on holidays, vacations; help celebrate festivals and public holidays; spend time in the wards 3. Design activities and projects which the cancer children could execute 4. Help organize events – especially outings and celebrations for the children Help at the CanKids Haven – a centre where children come for classes, activities, support meetings, counseling etc 5. Work with the Internet and Translations Group + the Research/ Resource and Library Group 6. Help with the Back TO School Program –including going in to schools to explain about childhood cancer- creating awareness and facilitating a smooth transition back in to school for a cancer kid 7. Raise funds, primarily for educational assistance to help cancer kids get back in to school, but also for medical assistance and activities and events 8. Special projects from time to time, and as they come up. 9. To manage and set up CanKids Companion Clubs * – in schools, colonies and clubs.
